Gordon Jones


Gordon Jones is Boise State’s founding Dean of the College of Innovation and Design. Gordon was hired at BSU in 2015 to start a new college focused on innovating new majors, certificates, and experiences that ensure students gain the knowledge and competencies needed to meet emerging workplace needs.

Gordon received his Masters of Business Administration degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Brown University. Gordon has successfully led business units consulting to The Gillette Company and Procter & Gamble.  He’s gained extensive industry experience across Fortune 500, middle-market, and startup organizations, specifically in the areas of entrepreneurial venture creation, large company innovation, disruptive education initiatives, new product development.

Gordon moved to Idaho in 2015 from Boston, Massachusetts where he was the Evans Family Foundation Managing Director of the Harvard Innovation Lab at Harvard University. Gordon was confirmed by the Boise City Council as a CCDC Commissioner on February 28, 2017, for a standard five-year term, ending March 31, 2022.
