“After nearly three decades of public use and enjoyment, The Grove Plaza is ready for some significant enhancements,” said Boise Mayor David Bieter, a CCDC board member. “With so many great things happening downtown and across the city, this project is another way for our residents to help enhance the livability of our community, engage in building its great lifestyle and have an opportunity to invest their community pride.”

GrovePlaza-25CCDC is offering the personalized bricks to be purchased and engraved for $60 and $100.  Both brick types will be the same size and quality and located in The Grove Plaza; however, the $100, Premium brick will be placed in a specially designated, highly visible area. The commemorative bricks can be purchased at  Boise residents and visitors can stop by CCDCs booth at a variety of community events over the course of the next several months to learn more about The Grove Plaza renovation and the Brick by Brick Campaign including an open house at 405 S. 8th street during First Thursday on September 3rd.

The new generation of bricks will be placed alongside the original commemorative bricks have paved the plaza since 1986.  However, because many of the original bricks, or Founders Bricks, are cracked or broken, CCDC is re-engraving and replacing the original personalized bricks as a gift to the community. These bricks will have a special designation setting them apart from the new generation of personalized bricks, preserving the historical integrity of these Founders Bricks.GrovePlaza-87

Upon completion of The Grove Plaza renovation slated for summer of 2016, CCDC will update its brick locator map, so all personalized bricks can be easily discovered. The brick locator, called The Grove Plaza Brick Finder can be accessed on CCDC’s website.
