“My wife and I knew Boise was very special on our first trip to the City of Trees in the summer of 1995. While on that visit we rented an apartment, found jobs, and two weeks later the moving van was packed, and we started our lives together in this place we call home. I consider it a great privilege to be able to make a mark on this city through residential and commercial landscapes and creating community spaces for the all the residents of Boise to gather, enjoy, and recreate in.”

Toby oversees many of the capital improvement projects in CCDC’s Urban Renewal Districts. These projects include streetscapes, pathways, plazas, and parks. Toby’s extensive experience with public spaces ensures that new projects are inviting, engaging, accessible, and sustainable for everyone to enjoy.

Prior to joining the team at CCDC, Toby worked in landscape and construction industries in Boise, including running his own landscape design/build company. He spent 15 years with the City Boise Parks and Recreation department designing and overseeing construction on many of the parks in our community.

Toby holds a degree in Landscape Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and is a licensed landscape architect in the state of Idaho.

When not working, Toby and his family can be found riding bikes around town, hiking the foothills trails, kayaking the local waters, and camping across this great state.
