CCDC Shares Update on Block 69 North and Block 68 South

News & Notes, Press

We deeply appreciate the Developer’s partnership and tenacity in exploring creative solutions for both projects – Workforce Housing at 69 North and the Mixed-Use Housing & Mobility Hub at 68 South – especially under very challenging market conditions. While these projects are not moving forward, we are excited that the YMCA broke ground on the new CapEd Downtown YMCA, a cornerstone of our community that will continue to serve all for generations to come.

CCDC remains committed to constructing a parking structure at Block 68 South, which we purchased in 2017 for the purpose of catalyzing development of surface lots. Knowing that a childcare development center and additional clinic space are critical components of redevelopment in the neighborhood, CCDC plans to accept assignments of reservation agreements that the Developer executed with St. Luke’s and the YMCA. This means a medical clinic and a childcare facility could be included in the future redevelopment of Block 68 South 1010 W. Jefferson St. While details and precise timing are in process, our goal is to host a ribbon cutting in 30-36 months.
