Ryan Erstad

Commissioner

Ryan is a member of the Architectural Team at erstad, a multidisciplinary firm that has been at the forefront of design in the Treasure Valley since 1998. Before joining erstad, he was an Owner's Representative for Rocky Mountain Development, overseeing feasibility, design, and construction services for a broad variety of build-to-suit clients throughout the region. Prior to his time in commercial development, he worked for CM Company, Inc., a local construction manager and general contractor, overseeing projects in both the public and private sectors.  He is a licensed architect, holding both Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Idaho.

Having spent nearly all his life in Boise, Ryan is passionate about making sure it continues be the amazing place where he grew up. He sits on the City of Boise Design Review Committee, is an active member of the Downtown Boise Rotary Club, and serves as a member of the advisory board to Y Camp at Horsethief Reservoir.

Outside of work and volunteering, Ryan enjoys Boise’s incredible mix of outdoor access and diverse cultural institutions.  He looks forward to the distant day that he and his wife can take their kids hiking in the morning and to the Shakespeare Festival that night.  Ryan was confirmed by the Boise City Council as a CCDC Commissioner on March 1, 2022, for a standard five-year term ending in March 2027. He was appointed by Mayor Lauren McLean.
